1 in 3 women and 1 in 4 men in the US have experienced some form of physical violence in an intimate relationship.

Physical violence is the most visible type of abuse, but often it can be difficult to recognize an abusive situation or see a way out.

This place is a portal, a time capsule receptacle, for anyone who has escaped, to send a message back to your past self; a space to meditate on the moment you most needed a reminder from your future self, and to share the message that you needed.

Through the portal, we give ourselves the strength and the defenses that we needed in that moment, what we picked up along the way that got us through, and when the message comes out the other side, we trust that it reaches someone who needs it now.

1. Meditate on a moment that you most needed clarity or hope, in the midst of abuse.

2. Write an anonymous one-sentence message that you needed to hear in that moment.

3. Through the portal, send yourself strength from the other side of that experience. When the message comes out the other side, it will find someone who needs it in the future.

Hold that moment you needed this message in your mind... in the portal, your words will find their way to you in that moment; after all, you have made it here. Then, your magical message will travel to the other side of the portal to someone else who needs to hear. Thank you.
